Pregnant Catelynn Lowell & Tyler Baltierra Split For A Month Amid Marital Issues
RadarOnline.com exclusively reported Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra took a break from their tumultuous marriage. Although Lowell denied the split at the time, the Teen Mom OG stars confirmed the separation in a sneak peek for this week’s episode.
Lowell, 26, explained how getting pregnant was “very unexpected” for the couple, as they “still have a lot of work to do” on their marriage.
“Tyler has been frustrated in our marriage for a while and has been seeing a therapist,” she said in the clip. “He decided he wanted to try to live separately for a month. I was devastated at first, but now that I started the home therapy I am more comfortable with the idea.”
Baltierra, 26, came up with the idea when they went on a couples retreat in Sedona, Arizona.
“Basically me and you learned we have been together for so long, who are you as a person yourself?” Lowell said, as Baltierra added, “I said I want to live separately. It was the best place to bring it up.”
Baltierra explained how his wife “took it hard.”
“In that moment it did trigger me,” Lowell said. “It did bring up wounds. It was scary. It was sad and it was hurtful. When people say they want to separate, they want to leave, it seriously does feel like somebody died. It’s bringing up the old wounds from the miscarriage.”
In July, RadarOnline.com broke that the couple temporarily split.
“They definitely did take a break for a very short amount of time,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “They did it to just figure things out so Cate could find out who she is outside of her mental illness.”
The insider added how Baltierra “wasn’t happy” and “hadn’t been for a long time.”
“Even on a break, they didn’t want to date other people,” the source said. “Tyler has been kind of quite about their current status, but that’s because they have been filming.”
When RadarOnline.com broke the story, Lowell said, “Guys don’t believe everything you read on the Internet.”
