“They definitely did take a break for a very short amount of time, privately,” a source close to the couple told Radar. “They did it to just figure things out so Cate could find out who she is outside of her mental illness.”
The insider added how Baltierra “wasn’t happy.” “He hadn’t been for a long time and he finally expressed all of that to her,” the source said.
The parents of Novalee, 3, are now “working on their relationship” and are “slowly getting to a better place.”
“Even on a break, they didn’t want to date other people,” the source said. “Tyler has been kind of quiet about their current status, but that’s because they have been filming.”
Despite their marital issues, their focus is on Nova. “They want to raise her in a stable household, unlike the one they grew up in," the insider said.
Lowell worried about her marriage to Baltierra on TMOG because of her back-to-back stints in rehab for suicide and depression after suffering a miscarriage. Although Baltierra ensured they were okay, she sparked split rumors in May when she changed her last name on social media and visited Florida without her husband.
Baltierra also hinted at marital issues too with his cryptic poetry. In one poem he wrote, “That pathetic f**k up who got famous just for f**kin his girlfriend and getting her knocked up, man I can’t wait for this show to finally end. That mother**ker’s gotta get a job even though I doubt that he could & he’s gotta leave that broad if he ever wants to be heard.”
Lowell posted over the weekend, “I’m scared of the future. I’m scared of the past. I’m nervous at the moment.” She then added, “I’m so scared right now… but I know that everything that is supposed to happen will happen… whatever my destiny is will be… I got this… I’m strong…”
