Brody Says Dad Caitlyn Ditched His Wedding Because She ‘Had Better Things To Do'
Brody Jenner is not staying quiet about parent Caitlyn Jenner’s wedding diss.
One year after the I Am Cait star skipped her son’s nuptials to Kaitlynn Carter, Brody, 35, is voicing just how hurt he was by her decision.
On Monday's episode of The Hills: New Beginnings, Brody and his wife sat down for dinner with his brother, Brandon Jenner, and their mom, Linda Thompson. They began talking about Linda’s marriage to Caitlyn — who at the time still went by the name Bruce — and about Brody’s rocky relationship with her.
"My dad and I have never really had a great relationship," Brody said. "Through all the ups and downs that my family has had, my mom has always been the rock.”
Kaitlynn, 30, said that Brody was reluctant to show how angry and heartbroken he was that Caitlyn, 69, took back her RSVP days before the wedding.
"Right before our wedding, Brody's dad cancelled on coming to the wedding, like a week before." Kaitlynn said in her confessional. "Brody kind of brushed it off, but he has to have felt something. But he doesn't express it."
Brody didn’t show much emotion when speaking about his parent’s upsetting decision, but admitted, "Not having my dad at the wedding, it was a bummer."
"Honestly, it really did hurt and I would have loved to have her there," Brody added, "but she had better things to do. Apparently."
RadarOnline.com readers recall Caitlyn attended the Life Ball with girlfriend Sophia Hutchins on the day Brody and Kaitlynn tied the knot in Indonesia.
"I don't give Bruce, or Caitlyn, a pass for not being a father," Linda said in the show. "I don't think there's any excuse ever for not being there for your children."
The week of Brody and Kaitlynn’s wedding, Linda also slammed her ex on social media for not attending. Eventually, however, she actually encouraged her to forgive Caitlyn and move on.
Linda told him: “You're not wrong to have your feelings hurt. You're not wrong to be angry and to feel slighted. But you've just got to let it go."
Later in the episode, Caitlyn failed to show up for Brody and his band's music video release party, driving the family into an even bigger rage.
