Bethenny Frankel is wasting no time getting back into the dating game after her longtime boyfriend, Dennis Shields, died last summer, but now can exclusively reveal her new love interest's troubled past.

Just one month after the Real Housewives of New York star was caught holding hands with real estate executive Paul Bernon, learned he was involved in a tumultuous civil suit after he slammed his car into motorcyclist.

According to Massachusetts court records obtained exclusively by, the lawsuit — filed on June 9, 2015 — claimed on September 7, 2013, Bernon "was operating his motor vehicle in a careless and negligent manner."

"Paul Bernon's negligence caused the motor vehicle he was operating to rear end the motorcycle driven by the Plaintiff, Scott Wimberly, thereby injuring the Plaintiff, Scott Wimberly," the lawsuit stated. "Scott Wimberly "suffered serious personal injuries, incurred expenses for medical treatment, suffered great pain of body and mind."

On July 16, Bernon responded to Wimberly denying he was to blame for the accident and demanded a jury trial.

Five months later, on December 4, 2016, both parties agreed to dismiss the lawsuit.
