On The Rocks? Ashlee Slams Evan For Not Making Her 'Priority' Over His Acting Career
Ashlee Simpson's return to reality television has been anything but swift—much like her marriage.
After being apart for six months while he worked, Evan Ross told his wife that he had been offered a new job out of town, possibly taking him away from her—just when she confessed that she wanted to get her music career back on track!
Opening up on Ashlee + Evan about the humiliation of her botched Saturday Night Live lip sync disaster, Simpson, 33, revealed how her career crashed.
"You know, I had finished my album and it was out and 'Pieces of Me' was number one and then all of sudden, you know, s**t happened and it was like boom!" Jessica Simpson's little sister explained.
"And the world hated me for this SNL moment I had," she said.
While going through such public shame at a young age certainly hurt her, the bombshell said she was eventually able to learn from her mistake and grow stronger.
"For me, it was the most humbling experience of my life, because the whole world thinks everything that you just put your heart and soul into writing is a joke. And that sucked," she said.
But her adoring husband gushed over her career in his confessional.
"She's had an incredible career. She went on to create an album that sold 10 million around the world," Evan, 30, proudly said. "She made a clear decision to be a mother and step away from it for a minute."
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Simpson and Ross are parents to 3-year-old daughter Jagger Snow Ross.
After a years-long hiatus, Simpson told her hubby on the show that she was ready to get back to writing music with him—but his acting career was getting in the way.
"Evan is killing it in his acting career," Simpson said. "A part of me misses that."
Ross admitted that he was afraid to tell her about his new job opportunity.
"I don't keep things from my wife, but I do wait, because I already know exactly what she's gonna do, she's gonna lose her mind if I tell her I'm leaving again," Ross said.
"She's not scary, but she's a little bit scary at times," he added.
The actor broke the news to Simpson over a romantic dinner, and, as expected, she was crushed.
"I was kind of excited about doing our music and finally focusing on that," she told him. "It just kind of makes me sad because, it's like never a priority."

The reality show hit a high point when the couple went to visit Ross' music icon of a mother, Diana Ross.
They played their new song "I Do" for her and the Supremes lead singer gushed over their music.
"That's so wonderful because it's a song that you can sing to him, you can sing to your child, a parent can sing to kids. It's just really great," she said.
Evan Ross then talked about him and Simpson expanding their family, which includes the beauty's 9-year-old son Bronx Mowgli Wentz with Pete Wentz.
"You want to have another baby?" Diana Ross, 74, asked him while they were visiting his East Coast family.
"We need to have another one, might as well do it now-ish," he told her.
"You don't want to have another baby right now?" she asked again.
After thinking things through, Evan Ross decided to turn down the acting role and put wife Ashlee Simpson's happiness first.
