Presidential Election 2016
Anthony Weiner Laughs Off Affair Scandal On Same Night As DNC
Bill Clinton isn’t the only one whose cheating scandals could cast a shadow on the Democratic National Convention! Anthony Weiner, the husband of Hillary Clinton’s right-hand woman, Huma Abedin, bizarrely chose night one of the DNC to make an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert — and laugh off his own cheating scandal.
Weiner appeared on the late night show to discuss the first night of democratic convention and immediately faced digs from his host about Weinergate, the sexting scandal that preceded his embarrassing resignation from Congress in 2011.
Directing his attention to the audience, Weiner asked "Where is the New York delegation," then joked about his scandal saying, "Where’s the forced-out-of-office-by-scandal?"
"I figured I’d pierce the whole thing," Weiner told Colbert.
"Good. What did you pierce it with?" Colbert joked. The host then said he was not planning to discuss the scandal, but thanked Weiner for initiating.
Weiner’s first scandal involved sending explicit photos of himself over Twitter and Facebook in 2011. Wife Abedin stood by him only to be humiliated again in 2013, when he was caught having phone sex with web mistress Sydney Leathers under the alias "Carlos Danger."

Still, Abedin has weathered the storm, even in wake of her boss's ongoing email scandal.
Colbert asked Weiner if he could be trusted because of his ties to Clinton.
"Can I trust anything you are saying? Because you are married to Hillary Clinton's closest adviser," Colbert said.
Weiner did not answer the question directly.
But Colbert shot back, again bringing up Weiner’s sexting scandals when inquiring about the DNC email leaks.
"As someone who is probably not a big fan of revelations through electronic media, do you think this is a fair thing for the press to be talking about?" Colbert said.
