Amy Duggar has finally opened up about the broken state of her family.
In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, the famed Duggar cousin, who appeared on 19 Kids and Counting, revealed her relationship with her parents took a drastic turn in recent years.
"Their divorce was extremely hard on me," Amy, 31, told RadarOnline.com. "It was very, very difficult."
In 2015, Amy learned her parents were divorcing through a text message she received from her father on Christmas. In court documents exclusively obtained by RadarOnline.com at the time, Amy's dad, Terry Jordan, claimed that he suffered "intolerable" treatment from Amy's mom, Deanna Duggar.
Looking back on her parents' failed marriage, Amy told RadarOnline.com she believes their relationship was "just awful."
"I had to take care of myself," the former reality star painfully revealed.
Plus, Amy stunned Marriage Boot Camp viewers last year when she claimed that her father was abusive toward her as a kid. Although Amy's paternal grandmother, Lenora Jordan, denied the claims, Amy admitted to RadarOnline.com her relationship with her dad is still "strained" today.
"We've gone to counseling and I've forgiven him for everything he's done," said the Duggar cousin.
Amy added that she's "grateful" to have joined Marriage Boot Camp, but does have one regret about the experience.
"I should have handed that whole thing differently," she said about exposing her dad's alleged abuse on camera. "I should have done that behind closed doors."
Still, Dillon King's wife revealed she's proud the two have begun to heal.
"I've got to realize that I've done everything that I can possibly do and I've apologized," said the former TV star.
The famed Duggar added that her relationship with her mom is "great." Meanwhile, RadarOnline.com recently reported that Amy has been silenced by the rest of her famous family!
