Robert DeNiro took home the award for most scandalous moment — and got a standing ovation — at the Tonys when hetook aim at President Trump. “I’m gonna say one thing: F**k Trump,” said the actor to the crowd, which erupted in cheers. “It’s no longer down with Trump,” DeNiro added. “It’s f**k Trump.”
The show’s hosts, Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles, had to scramble to somehow change the topic, so they switched costumes.“I know what’s you’re thinking, but after De Niro, CBS told us to do something drastic,” noted Groban, who had donned the ensemble Bareilles wore in Waitress.
“Who is the woman in the top hat backstage at The Tony Awards?” the “confused” actor asked, noting Bloom “says ‘like’ and oh my god’ a lot.”
Harris quickly got his answer when Bloom tweeted back: “I’m a big fan of yours. We’ve meet numerous times and my husband, Dan Gregor, wrote for How I Met Your Mother for 5 years. Notably, he wrote the episode where your character finally meets his father.”
Drama program students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the Parkland, Fla., school where a gunman went on a murderous rampage in February, performed the Rentsong “Seasons of Love,” leaving stars, including Amy Schumer, in tears.
“She had a light that words can’t capture but touched everyone she came into contact with," Brosnahan wrote on Instagram about Spade following her tragic death. "She was exceedingly kind, beautifully sensitive, insanely talented, funny as heck and one of the most generous people I have ever known. She was effervescent. Hug your loved ones extra tight today."
