“He was good for about a week then went back to hanging out with the same people that do drugs and go out in all the bars,” a source close to Edwards, 31, told RadarOnline.com. “He wasn’t any better since he got out of rehab.”
The insider claimed the ex MTV star “fell right back into it.” “The sad thing about our town is that you can go to rehab, but those same people are still here doing the same stuff,” the source claimed.
RadarOnline.com broke Edwards was arrested on January 23, 2019. Public Relations Manager for Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office J. Matt Lea told RadarOnline.com that Edwards reported to Hamilton County Probation Office, where he was arrested for outstanding warrants. He was charged with simple possession of heroin executed by Red Bank. The clerk clarified he broke probation from a past 2017 possession of heroin charge.
He also has a warrant from Hamilton County for theft of services under $1,000. In a police report obtained from Chattanooga Police Department, a Bud’s Sports Bar server contacted police when Edwards allegedly drank and dashed on December 19, 2018. “Edwards had ordered six Jack Daniels Whiskey drinks, totaling $36, and left without paying for them” the report read.
As RadarOnline.com recently reported, ex Maci Bookout was “not surprised” over the arrest. “She’s more relieved because at least he’s not out acting like a fool,” the source said. “This will give him more time to detox.”
But the arrest hit his parents, Jen and Larry, wife Mackenzie and son Bentley, 10, with Bookout hard, as the family “isn’t taking it well.” “It’s more of the shock that he’s not coming home for a pretty good while,” the insider said. “They choose to not believe that he’s still the way he is.”
The insider claimed, “He’s the only one who doesn’t care.”
Edwards is currently being held on no bond until his Red Bank court hearing on April 15. He has a court date in Hamilton County on February 4, 2019.
