The world was shocked when pop music icon Prince was found dead in his home on April 21, 2016, at age 57. 

WWE Star Joan "Chyna" Laurer, 45, was shockingly discovered dead in her Redondo Beach, Calif. home on April 20, 2016.

At just 28, Heath Ledger was found dead in his New York City apartment after suffering an accidental drug overdose in 2008.  His last role as the Joker in The Dark Knight was speculated to have played a role in his death. In preparing for the film, he spent many months in isolation.

The world was shocked when iconic singer Whitney Houston died on February 11, 2012. While her death was ruled as a drowning, the toxicology report stated that cocaine was in the 48-year-old's system before she died.

In 2009, Brittany Murphy was suddenly found dead in her Los Angeles home after reportedly suffering from a case of pneumonia and anemia. The condition, combined with a mixture of over-the-counter cold medicine, caused the Clueless actress to die at just 32-years-old. 

Robin Williams, 63, was at the height of his career when he unexpectedly committed suicide and was found dead in his California mansion on August 11, 2014. His widow, Susan Schneider Williams, told People Magazine that a rare mental condition called Lewy body dementia had plagued him in the months before his death.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman died of a heroin overdose in February 2014 in New York City. Hoffman, 46, was in the middle of working on the super successful Hunger Games franchise at the time of his death.

Michael Jackson fans were shocked when the King of Pop died of a heart attack during the summer of 2009. He was later discovered to have had a dangerous mix of prescription drugs, including Valium and propofol, in his system.

Paul Walker died in a car accident in 2013 in California. Investigators determined that speeding caused the fatal crash.
