Suleman became one of America's most controversial mothers in recent years, after turning to stripping and pornography in order to provide for her 14 children.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the 41-year-old gave birth to octuplets in 2009 using IVF, but she already had six children at the time.

In a tell-all interview with Women's Day magazine, Suleman – also known as Nadya – spoke out on her troubled career path, claiming that her actions were for the sake of her children.

"Everything I ever did was for money to put food on the table," she told the publication.

"Everyone thinks I had all these donations and help, but I didn't," the struggling mother added. "I did everything on my own and paid for everything out of my own pocket."

"The last two years of it were so dark. We were on the verge of homelessness, so rather than put my kids in front of the camera, I decided to put myself out there."
