Since reconciling with fiance, Liam Hemsworth, 27, almost two years ago, Cyrus has never looked happier! According to a source, “Liam was the one who pushed her to get clean because he told her that he would not marry a trainwreck. That really woke her up.”
“It was extremely hard for Miley to quit using drugs and alcohol, but she’s done it and has been sober for several months now,” the insider said.
In May, Cyrus said in an interview with Billboard Magazine that she had quit using all substances, including weed and alcohol!
“I haven’t smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever gone without it. I’m not doing drugs, I’m not drinking, I’m completely clean right now! That was just something that I wanted to do,” Cyrus told Billboard.
Less than one month later, the Cyrus doubled-down on her claims and told Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon that she was done with marijuana! “I stopped smoking because, to sit here and to talk about what I’m doing, I wanted to be really clear,” she told Fallon. “Because I’m actually the most passionate about what I’m doing with this record than I’ve been — I say this every time — but I loved making this record so, so much!”
“Everyone is really, really proud of her,” the insider told RadarOnline.com. “She’s come so far and is working really hard at maintaining her sobriety. She is attending 12-step meetings and has a very strong network of people standing behind her.”
