Shooting Up? ‘Teen Mom’ Addict Ryan Edwards’ Possible Track Marks Caught On Camera

Ryan Edwards’ wife accused him of taking Xanax when he fell asleep at the wheel on the season finale of Teen Mom OG, but is that the only drug he’s taken? After Maci Bookout’s baby daddy was spotted with marks on his arms and hands on the episode, addiction expert and medical TV correspondent Dr. Pawan Grover exclusively confirmed to RadarOnline.com that they are consistent with track marks.
In one disturbing image from the episode, apparent puncture wounds could be seen on the outside of Edwards’ hand and wrist.
In another shot, there appears to be an abscess on the inside of his arm.
“Based on Edwards’ history with addiction issues on the show, the images are consistent with track marks,” Dr. Grover, who has not treated Edwards, told Radar. “Which is a tell-tale sign of chronic intravenous drug use.”
He added that the marks on his hand, wrist and arm appear to be “puncture wounds from injections of drugs intravenously.” “Because there is discoloration, bruising and scarring around these sites, it suggests this is continued chronic use. The veins near the puncture wounds appear to be collapsed, which is also consistent with chronic IV drug use.”
But the marks are the least of Edwards’ worries, as Dr. Grover explained that there are other issues associated with intravenous drug use. “There is the danger of transmitting infection to sexual partners,” he said. “The two most commonly transmitted viral infections caused by sharing needles are Hepatitis C and HIV.”
Edwards was caught on camera nodding off while driving his wife Mackenzie Standifer to their wedding ceremony. “Why are you swerving?” Standifer asked, as he slurred, “My eyes baby in the sunlight I can’t keep them open.”
Thoughout the scene, she punched his shoulder and grabbed the wheel as he nodded off. “Hey you know what would be the coolest?” he asked. “Bachelor and bachelorette parties. I just thought about it, but I can’t rethink about it. We’re going to be married, we’re going to be married.”
She then shut the cameras off, but left their microphones on as she asked if he took Xanax again.
After the scene was filmed, Edwards entered rehab for his addiction issues. “A little over 30 days ago, I made the decision to check myself into a rehabilitation facility,” he told MTV. “I am back home now doing well, and life could not be better. Without the support of my wife and parents I would not have been able to do this. Thank you all for your well wishes.” We pay for juicy info! Do you have a story for RadarOnline.com?
