Bristol Palin is replacing Farrah Abraham on Teen Mom OG, but is she also taking over for the Edwards family? Ryan Edwards’ dad Larry exclusively revealed to RadarOnline.com that they have not started filming for the upcoming season yet.
“No we have not been filming,” Larry told RadarOnline.com. “I haven’t heard anything. The last time we filmed was in New York when we were there for the reunion. They haven’t been back to the house since. Sometimes they film Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney.”
When asked if they will appear on the upcoming season, he responded, “I would assume. We haven’t heard we are not. I’m not sure with Viacom. We haven’t been notified.”
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup reported how Bristol was cast because Ryan's baby mama Maci refused to film. “She basically told production and crew that she wasn’t going to film if Ryan Edwards was filming because she didn’t want his drug struggles to play out on TV anymore. She didn’t want Bentley to be able to watch that go down.” The site added how Maci has began filming.
Are You The One? star Cheyenne Floyd and The Challenge star Cory Wharton are also joining the series. The cast will have five girls, similar to Teen Mom 2 when Briana DeJesus was added.

The Edwards family’s possible firing comes after a series of scandals. Ryan completed a stint in rehab for heroin after he drove high to his wedding with Mackenzie in May 2017.
Ryan was arrested on March 27, 2018 for petition to revoke for breaking probation from a past March 2017 possession of heroin arrest. RadarOnline.com exclusively reported that he failed a scheduled drug test on January 17. He tested positive for opiates and morphine in a urine sample. An insider told RadarOnline.com, “Ryan got six months probation and five public work days. He has random drug tests in between.”
Bookout and her husband filed orders of protection against Edwards on March 23. Bookout’s son with Edwards was listed on the order, along with her children Jayde, 3, and Maverick, 2, with Taylor. Bentley, 9, was eventually dropped from the protective order. Larry confirmed to RadarOnline.com that Ryan has seen his son.
