Life is back to normal for Ryan Edwards. After the Teen Mom OG star was banned from seeing his son because of Maci Bookout’s restraining order against him, his dad Larry Edwards is telling all on the father-son reunion exclusively to RadarOnline.com.
“Ryan has seen Bentley,” Larry told RadarOnline.com. “We’re back to normal. We just about get him every weekend.”
Although Ryan and Bentley, 9, are “getting along,” the same can’t be said for his son and Maci. “They still don’t communicate because of the order out,” he said.
As RadarOnline.com extensively reported, Bookout and her husband Taylor McKinney filed protection orders against Edwards on March 23. In Bookout’s order, she asked to have Bentley, and her children Jayde, 3, and Maverick, 2, with McKinney protected. “He has left voicemail messages threatening to show up at my house and take my son,” she claimed. “He has made threats to show up and hurt me if I don’t answer my phone.” She alleged that during her son’s baseball game in May 2017, Edwards “showed up under the influence of heroin and got in my face, yelling and threatening to hurt me.” In McKinney’s order, he claimed Edwards threatened to show up to his house and “put a bullet in his head” on March 20. “The police were called and they suggested to seek an order of protection,” he said. A two-year restraining order is currently in place that states Edwards must stay 100 feet from Maci, Taylor, Jayde and Maverick.
Larry explained how Ryan, who is expecting a son with wife Mackenzie in October, is sober today. “Trust me, if he wasn’t you would’ve read about it,” he said.
Edwards was arrested on March 27, 2018 for petition to revoke, which means breaking probation from a past March 2017 possession of heroin arrest. RadarOnline.com exclusively reported that he failed a scheduled drug test on January 17. He tested positive for opiates and morphine in a urine sample. An insider told RadarOnline.com, “Ryan got six months probation and five public work days. He has random drug tests in between.”
After the March 2018 arrest, Mackenzie deleted her social media. She returned earlier this week and shared a rare photo of her husband.
