Leah Remini's shocking claims about Scientology over the years have earned her the wrath of the controversial religion. Here are 11 reasons why she is the church's worst nightmare.

Remini came under fire for her shocking allegations in her book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology where she claimed that she was brutally punished for questioning the church's leader David Miscavige about his wife Shelly's whereabouts at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding. The church denied that conversation ever took place and insists that Shelly is alive and well.

Remini has harshly criticized Scientology, a church she joined as a young child and only left in 2013. "As time goes on, you start to lose touch with the real world," she's said. "The mindset becomes us against them," she said about the manipulation she felt as a member.

On her reality show, Leah Remini: It's All Relative, she slammed Scientology and revealed why she left. "I decided I didn't want to raise my daughter in the church because from what I've experienced and what I saw, the church becomes your everything," she said.

"When you leave, you can leave quietly. But If you make a stink in the public world, they call you a Suppressive Person, which means the church has put a stamp on you that says you are bad," she claimed.

But above all, Remini said that criticizing Cruise was not allowed. "Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself," she claimed. "You are evil." The church said in response, "It comes as no surprise that someone as self-absorbed as Leah Remini continues to rewrite history and exploit her former religion in a pathetic attempt to get ratings."

"It's people and a lifestyle you've known all your life," Remini said on Oprah: Where Are They Now in 2014. "It formed who I am, good and bad. It formed the way I think, good and bad, and there's a lot of pain connected to it. There's a lot of healing."

Remini said that her commitment to the church was unrealistic and she and her sisters were forced to sign "billion-year contracts we didn't understand" when her mother joined Scientology. She said they had to spend all of their time working at the church "from morning until night with barely any schooling," claims the church denied.

The King of Queens actress alleged that she was ignored when she tried to implement changes in the church. "They didn't care about doing the right thing. That showed me everything the church taught me was a lie," she said.

"In the church, you're taught that everybody is lost," Remini said in a 2014 interview. "They say they're loving, caring, nonjudgmental people, but secretly, they were judging the world for not believing what they believed. To me, that is not a spiritual person. That's a judgmental person, and that is the person that I was. I was a hypocrite, and the worst thing you can be in this world is a hypocrite."
