The Keeping Up With the Kardashians queen and rapper were beaming at their lavish wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy on May 24, 2014 — after Kim had already given birth to their first child, daughter North.
But after they wed, Kim struggled to conceive their second child, son Saint, and the couple's marriage went into crisis following her being robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

How It Began
It took a decade of knowing each other for Kim and Kanye to marry, as they reportedly first met in 2004, when she was still married to first husband Damon Thomas. She went on to marry second husband Kris Humphries but famously filed for divorce after just 90 days. In June 2012, Kim confirmed she was in a romance with Kanye.
Kim had her first child with Kanye before they got married. Their daughter North was born on June 15, 2013.
Kanye rented out AT&T Park in San Francisco October 2013 to propose to Kim on her 33rd birthday in front of friends and family. The stadium’s Jumbotron read, “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!” and the Chicago Symphony performed. She said yes!
Kim and Kanye traveled to Florence, Italy to marry at Forte di Belvedere. The reality TV star glowed in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown as they said their "I dos." KUWTK cameras were rolling for the big event!
Reality Sets In
The newlyweds struggled to conceive their second child, which hurt their sex life. Kim later admitted, "It was a long road. I would go to the doctor in Beverly Hills every day at five in the morning to get tested to see if I was ovulating. I'm like, 'I'm ovulating, get home now!' He'd be like, 'Wait, I'm in the studio.'"
Worth The Wait
Kim has admitted she hated being pregnant, but gave birth to her second child with Kanye, son Saint, on December 5, 2015.
While she was staying in a Paris hotel in October 2016 without her husband, Kim was robbed at gunpoint. She was tied up and gagged and the criminals robbed her of millions of dollars worth of jewelry, including her engagement ring. Kim later said she thought she'd be raped and killed. Horrified Kanye flew to be with her, and KUWTK cameras later showed him telling her, “If anything had happened to you, I wouldn’t have stopped until they were dead."
After behaving strangely during a concert tour, Kanye was rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles in November 2016. He was placed on a psychiatric hold. The rap star stayed hospitalized over that Thanksgiving weekend because of a temporary psychosis stemming from sleep deprivation and extreme dehydration. A RadarOnline.com insider said at the time that Kim being robbed "pushed him over the edge. He hasn’t been sleeping because Kim has been awake all night with nightmares."
In 2017, Kim attended the Met Gala alone as Kanye was taking a break from the stress of red carpets and other public events post-hospitalization.
After having two kids with Kanye, Kim needed help and they used a surrogate to carry their third child, daughter Chicago, who was born on January 15, 2018.
Kim and Kanye didn't want to stop at two children, despite her infertility struggle and marriage woes. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kim and Kanye's daughter Chicago was carried by a stay-at-home surrogate mom who was paid a paltry $75,000 by the filthy rich pair.
The superstar couple turned to surrogacy again to have their fourth child, son Psalm, who was welcomed earlier this month. Kim complained with a surrogate mother it is "so much harder to go through it this way because you are not really in control." Kim and Kanye have come under increasing strain as their family grows, an insider told RadarOnline.com.
Before the recent birth of their fourth child, Kim and Kanye had been living separate lives, according to a RadarOnline.com insider. "Kim and Kanye are barely speaking. They don't spend that much time together at all."
Kim didn't mind having KUWTK viewers see her marriage issues. On the season 16 premiere, Kim admitted, "Kanye is always going to be Kanye and I am never going to change that."
Divorce rumors flew about Kimye in 2019. A source said the couple are going through a "rough patch" in their marriage.
Not So Divine?
Kim and Kanye got slammed for choosing the unusual religious name, Psalm, for their fourth child.
Saving His Union?
Amid gossip about his marriage to Kim, Kanye started his own church with celebrity-packed Sunday services. As RadarOnline.com reported, he's ready to become an ordained Christian minister. "Kanye thinks that he may have been Jesus in a past life, and he has Kim convinced she was the Virgin Mary," a source claimed.
Incredibly, Kim has told family members she's ready to have a fifth child with Kanye despite already being overwhelmed with four. But Kim and Kanye have survived five years of marriage. Happy anniversary!
