Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West are marking their five-year wedding anniversary on Friday, May 24—a milestone few thought they would meet!
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians queen and rapper were beaming at their lavish wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy on May 24, 2014 — after Kim had already given birth to their first child, daughter North.
But after they wed, Kim struggled to conceive their second child, son Saint, and the couple's marriage went into crisis following her being robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
The brutal October 2016 robbery that traumatized Kim also sent her husband into a downward spiral, and Kanye wound up hospitalized on a psychiatric hold!
As RadarOnline.com reported at the time, Kanye's breakdown put a severe strain on the marriage, and their desire to build a big family together made things even worse.
Kim had to turn to a surrogate to have their next two children, daughter Chicago and son Psalm, who was born on May 9.

It took a decade of knowing each other for Kim and Kanye to marry, as they reportedly first met in 2004, when she was still married to first husband Damon Thomas. She went on to marry second husband Kris Humphries but famously filed for divorce after just 90 days. In June 2012, Kim confirmed she was in a romance with Kanye.

Kim had her first child with Kanye before they got married. Their daughter North was born on June 15, 2013.
