Jenelle Evans' worst nightmare has become a jaw-dropping reality.
A judge took custody away from the fired Teen Mom star, 27, in North Carolina court on Tuesday, May 28, multiple sources confirmed — and RadarOnline.com has exclusive details about the shocking decision.
“The judge told Jenelle that she failed to protect the children while they were in her care,” an insider confirmed to RadarOnline.com.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Child Protective Services took the children away, and launched an investigation into the reality star after her husband David Eason shot and killed her dog last month. Following four days of testimony in an explosive hearing, the judge ruled that the parents would not immediately regain custody of them. (The Ashley's Reality Roundup first reported the news of Jenelle losing custody today.)
Maryssa, 11, Kaiser, 4, and Ensley, 2, had all been living on "The Land," but will not return to their home anytime soon.
Jenelle’s son Jace lives with her mother, Barbara Evans. Barbara was given custody of Ensley after CPS removed her from the home. Maryssa will remain with her maternal grandmother, and Kaiser will stay with his father Nathan Griffith.

Final Ruling
Jenelle and David appeared in the Columbus County courthouse on Tuesday, May 28, where the judge delivered the shocking blow that their children would not be returned to them.
House Of Horrors
Shocking testimony about inside the home where Maryssa, Kaiser and Ensley were living was revealed during the hearings.
Miserable Relationship
“The judge heard testimony that David and Jenelle were constantly screaming and arguing, and the children were terrified,” an insider explained to RadarOnline.com.
Investigation Revelations
“CPS described the state of the home as horrific. It was filthy, and there were holes in all of the walls,” the source told RadarOnline.com.
Mom’s Heartbreak
“Jenelle was sobbing in court,” the insider revealed about the fired MTV star who left court early before the Memorial Day holiday without visiting her children.
Blind Trust
“Jenelle believed that her lawyer was going to be able to get her children back and she seemed stunned when this happened,” the source told RadarOnline.com.
Not Changing
“Jenelle is standing by David. Despite what happened, she has no plans to leave him,” the source told RadarOnline.com.
Slow Burn
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Barbara posted a photo of Ensley at the beach over the holiday weekend, sharing the toddler’s joy in the sand.
Daughter’s Distress
A source told RadarOnline.com that previous supervised visits at the court with Maryssa ended with the child “hysterical.”
Sad Situation
“It was supervised with the Sheriff and social services was in the room and Maryssa ran out hysterically crying into her grandmother’s arms,” the source told RadarOnline.com.
Legal Move
Jenelle’s attorney tried to get the judge to recuse himself from the case, claiming that he had a bias toward CPS, but he refused to do so.
The Beginning
The CPS investigation began after RadarOnline.com exclusively reported David shot and killed Nugget. Though he claimed the animal snapped at Ensley, he posted a video of the small dog harmlessly nipping at the toddler.
