RadarOnline.com has obtained photos showing Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter, E’Dena Hines, with her boyfriend, Lavar Davenport, just months before he allegedly brutally stabbed her to death in a Manhattan street. Click through the gallery to see candid photos of the couple laughing and smiling in what would be one of their final happy outings before the tragedy occurred.
Hines and Davenport, who is now on trial for her brutal murder, were caught on camera in happier times.
The pair was spotted in Memphis, Tenn., on Mar. 2, 2015, laughing and seeming to have a great time together.
Their happy day gave no hint of the tragedy set to befall the couple just five months later.
As Radar reported, Davenport yelled and cursed at Hines just hours before he allegedly stabbed her to death on Aug. 16, 2015, video footage obtained by RadarOnline.com shows.
In the shocking video, Davenport and a male friend are sitting around a table full of Corona beer bottles and cigarettes. Davenport, who allegedly was high on PCP at the time, slurs his words and gets increasingly angry at his 33-year-old girlfriend for videotaping him.
“Get that out of my face. Just put it off,” Davenport, 30, mumbles to Hines on camera. “I don’t like it. Turn the light off! I don’t care what you’re doing but take that light away from me. I don’t want that light there!” Davenport’s unsteady behavior then turns bizarre when he questions, “Am I to walk toward it and die?”
Later that evening, Hines was fatally stabbed at least 15 times in Upper Manhattan. Davenport was arrested and charged with second-degree murder for her death. His attorneys are using the insanity defense, claiming he was driven to kill Hines due to a PCP-induced psychosis.
Hines was the granddaughter of Morgan’s first wife, Jeannette Adair Bradshaw. In 2009, the National Enquirer reported claims that the Driving Miss Daisy icon was caught in a secret love affair with Hines, beginning when she was just a teen. Both denied the alleged affair. We pay for juicy info! Do you have a story for RadarOnline.com? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call us at 800-344-9598 any time, day or night.
