Lowell, 26, sparked rumors that she is back in rehab when she posted Snapchat videos from Sedona, Arizona. She completed rehab stints in November 2017 and January 2018 for depression and suicidal thoughts at an Arizona treatment center.
But Lowell's dad David exclusively told Radar that she is "not back in treatment."
"It's couple's counseling for a week," he said. "They are just brushing up on some therapy."
The getaway to save their marriage comes after Radar reported that the couple secretly split amid divorce rumors. "They definitely did take a break for a very short amount of time, privately," a source close to the couple told Radar. "They did it to just figure things out so Cate could find out who she is outside of her mental illness."
But Lowell and Baltierra, 26, who are parents to daughter Novalee, 3, are now "working on their relationship" and are "slowly getting to a better place."
Baltierra continued to spark marital issues when he posted a cryptic poem on Instagram earlier this week. "The only way I'm going to judge you for your past is if you bring it into your present and waste your presence stuck dwelling on the past and if your past doesn't come wrapped in a pretty bow, then I think it's time for you to focus and stop being petty now and start wrapping the bow around the real gift this life has given you… To be living and breathing in the present right now and that's what we all need to be pursuing," he wrote.
Lowell feared Baltierra would divorce her because of her back-to-back rehab stints. In May, she changed her last name on social media to her maiden name and visited Florida without her husband.
On another occasion, Baltierra posted yet another cryptic poem. "That pathetic f**k up who got famous just for f**kin his girlfriend and getting her knocked up, man I can't wait for this show to finally end," he wrote. "That mother**ker's gotta get a job even though I doubt that he could & he's gotta leave that broad if he ever wants to be heard."
The couple has also been less affectionate on social media. Despite the rumors, Lowell has insisted they are not divorcing.
