Zac Stacy's ex-girlfriend Kristin Evans is celebrating her small victory after his arrest, but she doesn't believe the 15-year sentence he's facing is enough for brutally beating her in front of their 5-month-old son.
Evans took to social media to share her feelings on Stacy being taken into custody. He was arrested on Thursday evening, nearly one week after the savage attack.
Officials announced Thursday that they were charging him with 2 felonies, including aggravated assault and criminal mischief. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Evans doesn't think that's fair, but she'll take what she can get for now. Posting his mug shot on her Instagram, the ex-NFL star's baby mama wrote, "Personally I feel the state should have several more charges, but thank you to everyone who made this possible!!! We are halfway there."
She followed her statement up with one last message: "CONVICTION & SENTENCING NEXT!"
As RadarOnline.com reported, police in Texas believed Stacy fled the state to avoid arrest. The former Jets player was arrested after flying into Orlando, Florida from Nashville, Tennessee.
According to officials, he flew back "with the intention of turning himself in."
While the manhunt for Stacy went underway this week, Evans and their child were given "security assistance." They were moved to an "undisclosed location" for fear the former running back might return to her home where the beating took place on Saturday.
Stacy's physical attack was caught on film. In the stomach-turning video, he could be seen hurling Evans around like a ragdoll as their child watched crying just feet away.
After hitting her multiple times, Stacy threw Evans into the TV. She immediately bounced off of it and fell to the floor, hitting their son's bounce chair on the way down.
The flat-screen fell on top of her and she continued to cover her face to protect herself from his blows.
Officers arrived at Evans' residence "within two minutes" after receiving her call for help, only to find that the NFL player was gone.
Evans allegedly went to the hospital and was treated for a possible head wound. Documents also reveal she suffered injuries to her face, torso, and legs.
Following the beating, Stacy's ex-girlfriend filed a restraining order against the star, begging for protection for herself and their child.
