Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's Controversial Relationship Timeline in 25 Clicks: From Cheating Allegations to Financial Strife

Following their respective divorces, Spelling and McDermott wed in a private ceremony in Wakaya, Fiji.

In her book sTORI Telling, the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress opened up about their marriage and revealed why she married him.

"I loved him and he'd been a friend to me, but I married him because he was a great guy, a guy who took care of me. Charlie didn't want to hear it," she wrote. "He kept saying, 'Where's all this coming from? We have a perfect relationship.' Then he turned to me. 'Did you cheat on me?' I said yes. He said, 'It was with Dean, wasn't it?' I said yes. He said, 'I should have known.'"

Spelling and McDermott welcomed their first child, Liam, on March 13. A few months later, they launched their reality TV series Tori & Dean: Inn Love before starting a bed and breakfast in Fallbrook, Calif.

Over a year after Liam arrived, they welcomed the family's second child and first daughter, Stella.

Footage from the pair's reality TV series showed the duo feuding, leading the viewers to assume they might be splitting. However, they debunked the claims by renewing their vows the following month.

The A Friend to Die For star welcomed their third child, Hattie, before a scheduled C-section. In her interview with Us Weekly, Spelling said the baby was not planned.

"Knowing we were bringing a third life into the world just enhanced our relationship," she said. "The moment I had her, I looked at Dean and fell in love with him all over again."

Spelling got pregnant with their fourth child one month after giving birth to their third baby. She soon stayed in a hospital for three months due to placenta previa and excessive bleeding.

After giving birth to Finn, the A Carol Christmas star underwent an emergency surgery.

Emily Goodhand had an affair with McDermott while they were filming Chopped Canada. She told Us Weekly that the actor informed her that he and Spelling had a sexless marriage.

In the documentary series True Tori, Spelling failed to contain her feelings while opening up about not giving her then-husband enough s--. She added that McDermott would never be happy with just her alone.

On the other hand, McDermott also broke down as he said, "I just thought, 'This is it. You can't get out of this. I blew it. Everything great in my life, I s--- on.' I just thought, 'Tori deserves me to die.'"

After the issues bombarded their marriage, McDermott surprised Spelling when he proposed to her in Paris. He gifted her an antique ring when he got on his knee at the Cafe de l'Homme.

"[He wanted] to have the terrace all reserved and private for us, and told me we were going to get coffee and hot chocolates for the kids," she told photographer Michael Simon. "And then surprised me when he got down on one knee and presented me with an antique engagement ring."

A few months after the American Express issue, Spelling and McDermott were named in another lawsuit filed by the City National. It claimed that they stopped paying the loan they took out in 2012.

They were also slapped with financial issues due to unpaid $39,000 credit card bills.

Despite the complicated fourth pregnancy, Spelling and McDermott prepared to welcome their fifth child, Beau.

"The doctor said that considering everything that happened the last time, this is a miracle baby that Tori got pregnant and that it's okay," the Due South star said.

After putting things in the right places, Spelling and McDermott dealt with online trolls in 2019. One of the issues included people body-shaming their kids.

Spelling and McDermott ignited breakup rumors after the Kiss the Bride actress made a public appearance sans her wedding band. They also did not publicly mark their 15th wedding anniversary that year.

On SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live, Spelling answered the query about whether she was having s-- with McDermott and if they were sleeping in the same bed.

She revealed that he was not with them because of a project.

"Since he left — this is not good, you guys — but since he left [and] he was gone for six months filming in another country, they all stayed with me," she explained. "So I currently still have four in the bedroom with me who have yet to go back to their rooms, yes."

Although they were not sleeping in the same bed, she wore her ring during the interview again.

A few months after the split rumors emerged, a source revealed that the duo were going through major issues for a year.

"The fact that she's talking about sleeping in separate beds is very telling," the unnamed insider went on. "She wouldn't do that unless things were really not great between them. Tori knows her kids see what she says online, so for her to say something publicly means the end could be very near."

Although the Bone Daddy actor dismissed the divorce claims, another source told Us Weekly that the pair were going through a trial separation. Another insider said they halted the divorce process because it was too expensive.

"They both feel trapped," one source explained. "Having kids makes it more difficult because they don't want their children to be unhappy, yet at the same time Tori has been unhappy for quite a while now. They truly are still together for their kids."

McDermott announced in a since-deleted Instagram post that he and Spelling called it quits.

"It's with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own," he wrote. "We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time."

The pair never revealed the reason behind their divorce, but a source said their financial issues took a toll on their relationship.
