Olivia Munn is being dragged to court after a man died following an incident while working on her home.
According to court documents, the actress and her mother Kim Schmid hired a man named Celso Merida to repair the roof on a property.
John Mulaney’s pregnant girlfriend is the listed owner of the pad where the incident occurred.
The lawsuit, filed by Celso’s family, claims the man had been hired to replace the roof in May. The worker had been at the home for multiple days before the tragic accident took place.
His family claims he fell off the roof and was severely injured. A couple of weeks later, he died as a result with his cause of death listed as blunt force traumatic injuries.
Celso’s family accuses Olivia and her mother of hiring an unlicensed contractor named Fernando. The suit says the contractor then hired Celso.
Olivia is being blamed for being negligent in hiring Fernando. The docs say the actress and her mom instructed Celso to work on the roof even though they did not have the proper safety protection. Further, they claim Celso was not provided the proper tools to do the job safely.
The family believes Munn and her mother should pay unspecified damages for the loss of Celso.
Olivia's rep has yet to release a statement on the matter.
The legal battle comes as Olivia is pregnant with John's baby and set to give birth in the near future. The relationship has been clouded by rumors of a split for months as sources claim John is not ready for anything serious.
John is also still in the middle of a nasty split with his soon-to-be ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler. He recently hired the attorney who represented Matt Lauer's ex-wife in an attempt to move his divorce along quicker.
Olivia and John have not been seen together in a bit but sources close to the actress claim the relationship is solid.
