'Vanderpump Rules' Star Lala Kent's Baby Daddy Randall Emmett Sues Ex-Landlord For $550k

Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent’s ex Randall Emmett is refusing to pay up on alleged back rent for his office — claiming the building’s landlord refused to follow safety procedures during the pandemic.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, the C-list movie producer is fighting off the suit brought by a company called 8200 Cardinal Associates.
As we first reported, the company filed suit against Kent’s baby daddy and Randall Emmett/George Furla Productions in October for breach of lease.
The landlord said Emmett leased office space in their building on Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills in 2017. The producer took over a portion of the third floor at the rate of $17k per month.

The suit claimed Emmett and his partners stopped making the monthly payments last year and vacated without notice in March 2021. The problem being the lease didn’t expire until June 30, 2021.
The landlord is suing for the alleged $281k in unpaid rent and other charges. Further, the company wants an additional $55k for the remaining months left on the lease. 8200 is seeking in excess of $336,000 in damages.
In his newly filed response, Emmett denies all allegations of wrongdoing. He then filed a countersuit against the landlord. He claims the building was shut down in March 2020 due to the stay-at-home order. Emmett says he was unable to use the office for those months.
Further, he claims the elevator was broken from August 2020 until February 2021, which made it impossible to move out.

The producer also accuses the landlord of mishandling his mail costing his money.
He claims they misplaced “2 checks from the Ohio state treasurer for $2.2 million each and a check from the Georgia state treasurer for $180,000.” Emmett says this cost him about $200k in default interest.
Kent’s ex also complains about the building not checking the temperature of other people entering the building. He is suing for in excess of $500k.
The suit was filed weeks before Kent decided to leave Emmett after alleged photos of him with other girls leaked online. She quickly moved out of the family home and took their daughter Ocean with her.
The teaser for the Vanderpump Rules reunion was released this week and shows Kent trashing her ex. “The fact that this man … made feel safe enough to bring a child into this world. I feel disgusted,” she told Andy Cohen.
