The 42-year-old was caught by paparazzi looking sad and in despair ahead of her first weekend as a single lady.
The Dawson's Creek actress was photographed hitting the streets for her morning coffee on Friday.
Keeping it casual, Katie Holmes attempted to go incognito but couldn't fool the shutterbugs who were waiting for the first shot since her breakup.
Wearing extra baggy gaucho pants, the star sported an oversized striped top, and sneakers to complete her casual single lady look.
Rocking her brunette hair in a messy bun on the top of her head, and black-rimmed sunglasses, Holmes looked almost unrecognizable until she pulled down her mask.

As RadarOnline.com reported, Holmes recently ended her 8-month relationship with 33-year-old Vitolo.
According to OK!, the actress "dumped him" after questioning his motives for dating her. While Vitolo is a chef by trade, he has dreams of being an actor.
Holmes reportedly began to feel like "something didn't seem right" and pulled away from their romance last month, reports the outlet.
“Katie started to wonder if Emilio had ulterior motives for dating her," the source continued, adding that she has a long list of celebrity friends and connections in Tinsel Town.
She allegedly felt like things were moving "too fast" and decided they needed to "pump the breaks."
"Katie has a lot of big priorities in her life — she’s a single mom, her daughter [Suri] always comes first and things were moving very fast,” an insider told OK!, adding, "Katie has a lot going on and Emilio is busy working at his restaurant with his dad.”
Speaking of Suri, Holmes' only child with Cruise recently turned 15 years old, and her resemblance to her famous mom is uncanny!
