Jennifer Lopez Roasted On 1-Year Anniversary Of Her Failed Viral Challenge

Jennifer Lopez was torn to shreds on social on the anniversary of her attempt to go viral with the Love Don't Cost a Thing challenge.
Last year, the 52-year-old singer tried to celebrate her hit song turning 20.
She decided to post a video on social of her walking on the beach with the song playing in the background. J. Lo proceeds to take off her expensive jewelry and throw them behind her as she doesn't look.
The challenge immediately caught backlash with many telling J.Lo they were uneasy about throwing their watches and bracelets like her — given they weren't in the same tax bracket as her.
“Jlo we supposed to throw our valuables on the beach?” one person asked. “Is the challenge to find it after we throw it bc we can’t afford to replace it?!? What is the instructions?!?!?????”
Comedian Kathy Griffin even asked, "I’m a little confused by the particulars of this challenge. Isn’t this a version of what most people do before they get in the shower?"

A search on social reveals only a few fans actually went through with the challenge and posted their own versions.
Over the weekend, fans decided to remind J. LO of how badly the viral challenge failed. "The challenge was getting people to do it," wrote one salty observer.
Others joked that Jennifer kept the video up for the entire year despite how poorly of a reaction it received.
"Today is the anniversary of the day the world reminded Jennifer Lopez that she's a non-mothaf--kin factor," joked a non-J.Lo fan. "Can’t believe it’s been a year since this embarrassing moment. @JLo remains the only human on earth to ever do the #LoveDontCostAThingChallenge," remarked another.
"Who wants to go to Hollywood beach and throw our belongings into the frigid water tomorrow?" another user mocking Jennifer commented.
