Jen Shah Pleads With Judge Not To Postpone Criminal Trial

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah is demanding her criminal trial go down in March and not be postponed.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, the Bravo star is complaining about the possibility that the March 22 date will be pushed back.
Her lawyer explains the court has 3 cases scheduled for the week of March 22. He is concerned there won’t be enough time to hear Shah’s case along with the other 2.

Shah’s attorney is asking for a hearing with the judge. He wants the court to decide if the March date will work or if they need to reschedule.
The lawyer says he is aware the court is set to schedule trial dates for the second quarter of 2022 in mid-February. However, he says his client is concerned that if they don’t get the March date and don’t request a new date by February, “then we may not get a new trial until the third quarter of 2022.”
He writes, “Ms. Shah seeks the earliest possible trial date.” The judge came back and ruled the parties should be ready for trial on March 22. He noted that it could be pushed but they will cross that bridge when it comes time — leaving Shah with quite a cloud hanging over her head.
As we previously reported, last year, Shah — along with her longtime personal assistant Stuart Smith — was arrested by feds as part of a massive telemarketing fraud probe.

In court documents, Shah is accused of helping compile lists of potential victims for telemarketing companies to defraud. Prosecutors claim she not only received a kickback from the ill-gotten funds but she targeted the elderly.
Shah has denied all allegations of wrongdoing and is still fighting the charges. Smith reached a plea deal with prosecutors and agreed to turn on his fellow defendants including his former friend.
