Elon Musk's baby mama Grimes released a music video after parting ways with her tech billionaire ex, giving fans a look at what's going on behind the scenes in her new song following the announcement of their split.
She told her followers on Instagram she made the video titled Love in response to "bad press" and the "online hate" she experienced after the breakup news broke.
In the video, fans can see the 33-year-old musician wearing a sheer beige top and donning a messy braided platinum hair with metal chains and rings scattered throughout her locks.
Grimes made the shot looking more dramatic using a toy lightsaber illuminating herself with a red tube. She also added a white sheet hanging over her head and a string fan off-camera that blew it about over her head.
She clarified in the caption that she "wrote and produced" the song in retaliation to all the "privacy invasion, bad press, online hate and harassment by paparazzi" she faced following her split with Musk.
Grimes, whose original name is Claire Boucher, wrote the words from her lyrics to highlight the struggles she was going through and the outcome of her being a public figure.
Part of the lyrics read, "It f----ing sucks to be awake, Oh Lord I pray my soul to take, understands because everything they hate is everything I love."
Grimes' loyal followers were quick to display their support for the singer.
Her facialist Candace Marino whose worked with her during this year's MET Gala event, commented on the post, saying, "Anyone who actually knows you knows what a beautiful and kind person you are and such a good mom to baby X. Chin up babe," accompanied by a love emoji.
Despite the devastating news from her split with the Space X Founder, Grimes seemed to be handling the situation very well. Earlier this week, the artist quipped about starting a "lesbian space commune."
"I'll be colonizing [one of Jupiter's moons] Europa separately from Elon for the lesbian space commune," she wrote via an email.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Musk and Grimes who welcomed their son X Æ A-Xii Musk last May, called it quits after being in a relationship for three years.
The 46-year-old South African tech entrepreneur announced the news himself, claiming that they still "love each other," and their decision was made due to the pair's work commitments.
"We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently, and are on great terms," he explained. It's mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas, and her work is primarily in LA. She's staying with me now, and Baby X is in the adjacent room."
