Dr. Oz talked a bit of trash about The View cast after they accused him of going over to the dark side.
On Thursday, Dr. Oz spoke at a private lunch hosted by Margo and John Catsimatidis in New York. The television doctor is working to garner support for his Senate run in Pennsylvania.
RadarOnline.com has obtained audio of the conversation he had with guests at the event. Oz had no problem speaking his mind on various topics including the conversation he had with Oprah before announcing his run.
He claims to have told his former boss — who helped launch his daytime show — not to support him and he could win without her help.
Dr. Oz also addressed the ladies from The View trashing him over his campaign. On December 1, the panel – which consisted of Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, and Joy Behar. On the show, all the hosts admitted to being friendly with Oz in the past and Joy even had dinner with him in the past.
Joy said, “This is some political aspiration that he has that must be controlled,” she said. “Mehmet, please, come back,” the comedian added using the doctor’s first name.
She also revealed “I’ve been to his house for dinner”
“Somebody that we know was having a medical issue, I picked up the phone, I asked him ‘What should we do?’ He told you exactly who to call. He’s very, very, personally, a doll.”
However, they all agreed that Oz had “gone over to the dark side” by trying to win over Fox News viewers. The ladies accused him of pushing unproven cures and downplaying the severity of Covid-19.
Whoppi even called him out for being one of the loudest to push for school to reopen during the pandemic. “Listen, you either get that this is about other people’s health,” she said. “Kids going back to school deserve to be safe and if you as a doctor and a physician can't see that, then you're not somebody I want to vote for. No matter how much I like you!”
During the event, Oz talked about wanting to work with people of all political backgrounds. He said, “I don’t wake up in the morning and hate democrats. That shouldn’t motivate anybody.”
Oz proceeded to talk about the comment made by Whoopi & co. “I got skewed on The View … I’ve done that show thousands of times. These people know me well, they have been to my house, I’ve helped them, they have helped me back.”
He said, “They were so angry and so shocked I was Republican they couldn’t hold themselves back.”
