Dr. Dre agreed to cough up $100 million to his ex-wife Nicole Young to end their extremely nasty divorce.
According to sources connected to the couple, the music mogul decided to avoid a costly trial and payout a lump sum.
The two were headed to face off in the next couple of months but called it off at the last minute. Dre will pay Nicole $50 million now and another $50 million next year. Sources claim he is pleased with the deal as she was fighting for half of his estate worth an estimated $800 million.
Dre is walking away from the divorce with 7 homes including the Malibu mansion Nicole had been living in. He will also keep 2 Calabasas homes and 4 other properties in the Los Angeles area. The biggest piece of real estate that will remain in his portfolio is his $100 million Brentwood estate.
Dre recently filed docs revealing the details of his income and expenses. The mogul brings in around $223k a month in income which is broken down as $84k in dividends/interest and another $120k from “sources.”
In the past 12 months, Dre sold off Apple stock worth $73 million. At the time of his filing, Dre listed $182,744,809 in cash and checking/savings accounts. He had another $6 million in stocks and another $269 million in real and personal property. During the divorce, Nicole accused Dre of spending on average $7 million a month.
The settlement is a huge win as Nicole was gearing up to contest the prenup in court. She admitted to signing the document but claims Dre tore it up years into their marriage. Dre called the claim nonsense and demanded the deal be enforced in court.
The split was contentious with Dre being accused of having multiple affairs while he claimed Nicole falsely concocting abuse accusations.
