CNN insiders tell RadarOnline.com that Don Lemon fell to his knees and was ‘inconsolable’ when he found out that his friend and co-work, Chris Cuomo, had been suspended from the network
“Shortly after Chris was made aware of the indefinite suspension CNN’s communications offices issued a press release. Don Lemon, Anderson Cooper and all the other anchors and staff at the network found at about the news at almost the same time as everyone else,” a source tells RadarOnline.com.
“The entire staff was emailed the statement minutes before it all released externally. There was shock and sadness but also a sense of justice that CNN had done the right thing. It just goes to prove that even a Cuomo is not about the rules.”

However, insiders reveal that out of the hundreds of employees, no one took the news harder than Don Lemon.
Sources tell us, “Don literally fell to his knees. He idolizes Chris. Chris is the cool guy on the CNN campus. The hot straight guy that all the girls and gay boys adored and all the straight boys wanted to be. Don was his shadow in the hallways at CNN. He literally followed Chris around like a puppy."
"Before Chris arrived Don was lost. It was Chris that gave Don the confidence to come out as a proud black man,” adds a pal. “While everyone is around jockeying to get Chris’s timeslot, Don is inconsolable.”
As RadarOnline.com first reported, Jake Tapper & Brian Stelter were both lobbying for Chris' timeslot before the network even made a final decision.
“While Brian Stelter is telling Chris that he has his back, behind the scenes Brian is actively lobbying for his job,” insiders tell RadarOnline.com.
