Cardi B revealed that her million-dollar home in Atlanta has been flooded due to the aftermath of severe weather caused by Hurricane Ida. Taking to her Instagram, she showed the damage, adding the caption, “storm is no joke."
In the clip, she showed her fans that water started to flood part of the house. When she got to the bathroom, the amount of water was seen increasing in the area and she was heard saying, “Oh my God, it’s starting to sink,” as she feared the water was going to spread to more parts of her house.
The singer is just one of the many residents affected by the deadly natural disaster that has been hitting Georgia and other parts of the East Coast including New York and Louisiana.
The hurricane has reportedly resulted in damaged buildings, loss of power, floods, and deaths since making its landfall on Sunday.
The rapper and her husband, Offset, purchased the mansion for $5.8 million in a suburb of Atlanta in December 2019.
The five-bedroom and 11-bathroom house in Sandy Springs has been a safe haven for the duo, who share a 3-year-old daughter, Kulture, and have another child on the way.
This comes after it was reported that most of Georgia “will be under a slight risk for severe weather on Tuesday with a threat for spin-up tornadoes and damaging winds,” according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
The weather is expected to be “drier and much more pleasant” for the rest of the week and this holiday weekend, so hopefully, that gives Cardi some relief.
The WAP rapper made headlines this week after defending Late Instagram model Mercedes Morr, who was allegedly murdered by a crazed follower in her own home in Dallas.
Cardi wrote on her Instagram Live, “Ya will hate on a bad bitch dead or alive. She was a sweetheart.”
Mercedes’ mom later revealed that she and her family are grateful the Grammy-winning singer spoke out in defense of her daughter, and she's invited Cardi to their daughter's celebration of life this weekend.
