Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called out Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for banning two United States sitting members of Congress from coming to Israel years before the war broke out.
She got down to brass tacks while addressing the current state of the war in Israel, explaining that it has been eye-opening to witness the "sidelining" of human rights issues involving Palestinians during her time in Congress.
During her virtual appearance on Mehdi Hasan's MSNBC show, RadarOnline.com has learned that she spoke about fellow Democrats and claimed there needs to be further concern for Palestinian well-being.
Alongside a banner which reported that aid workers will run out of fuel in Gaza in three days, Hasan pointed out "almost all of the at least 18 House Democrats who called for a ceasefire in Gaza are people of color."
"How much of the congressional indifference to Palestinian life in Gaza, the refusal in D.C. to acknowledge sometimes the humanity and innocence, not to mention the suffering of all ordinary Gazans. How much of that is driven by the fact that they're Arabs?" Hasan questioned, adding, "Or they're Muslims? Or they don't look like us?"
Ocasio-Cortez said she has long noticed the ignoring of human rights issues involving Palestinians by the U.S. House of Representatives, noting it's nothing new but still shocking.
"We've been trying to raise the alarm bells around this for years," she went on. "There has been virtually no acknowledgement in the United States House of Representatives about the extreme plight and continued human rights violations of the Palestinian people. For years. I find it alarming."
She went on to highlight that Israel prohibited her fellow progressive Representatives Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from visiting the country years ago.
"I found it shocking in 2019… when Prime Minister Netanyahu banned two United States sitting members of Congress from coming to Israel," Ocasio-Cortez said.
"Banned two members of the United States Congress from entering the country," she emphasized to Hasan. "That my own colleagues did not seem to say or do much of anything, that should be an affront to our entire government and country."
Meanwhile, AOC made headlines earlier today for scoffing at Rep. Bryon Donalds' bid to become the new House Speaker on Hasan's show as a wild battle for the gavel continues.
The two candidly spoke about ongoing drama with the Republicans being unable to find a replacement for ousted Kevin McCarthy.
"He's only served one term in the U.S. House of Representatives," she explained. "The last thing that he did in the Oversight Committee was attempt to submit falsified evidence to an impeachment hearing."

"I think it helps to know where all the bathrooms are before you run for the U.S. House of Representatives, personally, and I think it helps to have some real experience in one of most complex legislative bodies in the world before you try to run it."
Donalds, on the other hand, remained optimistic and stated, "I look forward to securing the votes of a majority of my Republican colleagues to become the first African-American Speaker, the first Speaker from the great state of Florida, and the next Speaker of the 118th Congress."
