'Rust' Film Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, Who Loaded Gun For Alec Baldwin, Seen For First Time Since Fatal On-Set Shooting
The rookie armorer at the center of the Alec Baldwin on-set shooting was spotted for the first time since the incident that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
24-year-old Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was spotted outside her home in Bullhead City, Arizona.
The pad is an 8-hour drive from the set in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In the snaps, Hannah looked exhausted as she paced around her front yard on a cell phone.
She wore an all-black shirt that read “I’m all tied up at the moment” with matching tights. The armorer was holding a notebook as she appeared to take down information while on the call.
A reporter claims Hannah rushed back inside after her phone call and refused to answer the door for questions. Hannah should be a little concerned as the investigation into the death of Halyna moves forward.
At the moment, no criminal charges have been brought but the police are actively investigating in real time. Court records show crew members told investigators that Hannah was the one responsible for loading the gun that Alec used that killed Halyna and injured the director, Joel Souza.
Hannah is the daughter of legendary armorer Thell Reed and was trained by her father for years. Former crew members have come forward to accuse Hannah of being inexperienced and not ready for the job.

In a podcast interview, which resurfaced following the incident, Hannah revealed she had concerns about loading blanks into prop guns. On the Rust set, Hannah is the one who loaded the vintage Colt pistol for Baldwin to use for the scene.
The assistant director Dave Halls then took the gun off the table, which held a total of three guns, and handed the weapon to the actor. Halls was the one who reportedly advised Baldwin that the gun was “cold” and ready to use.
Halls is also being accused of being reckless on film sets by former crew members. "He was very flippant about my insistence on having a safety meeting about the weapons, on both of the sets. He would rush through it and say, alright guys, be safe, let's get to work," one source dished.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
