HGTV made history by featuring a throuple on the latest episode of House Hunters — and viewers are here for it!

On Wednesday, February 12, the network streamed an episode titled “Three’s Not a Crowd in Colorado Springs,” featuring three polyamorous homeowners, Brian, Lori and Geli, on their quest to find their dream Colorado home.

The trio spoke candidly about their dynamic and admitted they wanted to find a house that fit their needs. Among their list of must-haves was a three-car garage, a master bedroom that fit three people, and space for Brian and Lori’s two children.

While searching for their ideal home, the three came across a house with a relatively small kitchen. “This is a couple’s kitchen,” Lori said, “not a throuple’s kitchen.”

Eventually, they chose a beautiful house that — while it was above their initial budget — had a lovely mountain view.

As was detailed in the episode, Brian and Lori were already legally married to each other when they met Geli at a bar and fell in love with her. After that, both Brian and Lori exchanged vows with Geli in a commitment ceremony attended by their children.

HGTV viewers were stunned to see the network feature a throuple in one of their episodes — and many praised them for their brave decision.

“Oh my god. A throuple on House Hunters,” Bad Feminist author Roxane Gay tweeted. “Great episode!!!! Educational.”

“I was legit about to change the channel until I heard throuple. You have my FULL attention now,” a user wrote.

“I have never sent a tweet about #HouseHunters until tonight. Bravo #hgtv, you got me with the throuple,” a third viewer tweeted.

“Holy sh**t a poly couple and the word bisexual used on #HouseHunters ???? WOW NICE I DIG,” a tweeter wrote.

“HGTV really might be the most progressive show on TV. About to watch a polyamory couple fight over a house!” another user commented. “Honestly I feel like I learned a lot #HouseHunters”

Some fans congratulated HGTV for “storming into 2020” and for taking a risk by sharing the throuple’s unique story.

“Literally perfect television,” one tweeted.

“Wow, shocked that this house hunters episode not only showed a poly relationship, but they called them a throuple the whole episode and outright said the women were bisexual. Guess we gotta stan!” another wrote.

“This throuple on house hunters… good for them ?” another tweeted. “representation matters.”
