The New Girl is now a single girl.

RadarOnline.com has learned Zooey Deschanel and her producer husband Jacob Pechenik are splitting up after over four years of marriage.

“After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners,” a joint statement from the couple read. “We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time.”

As RadarOnline.com originally reported, Deschanel, 39, and Pechenik, 47, reportedly met on the set of the comedy Rock the Kasbah in 2014. Less than a year later, the couple announced they were expecting their first child together in the summer of 2015.

The pair confirmed their engagement that January and got married around the same time they welcomed daughter Elsie in July. In addition to Elsie, now 4, they also share 2-year-old son Charlie.
