Tamra Judge is blasting her fellow Bravo star Bethenny Frankel. The Real Housewives of Orange County star responded to The Real Housewives of New York star's recent announcement that she's quitting the show partly for family reasons. With Season 12 RHONY production looming, Bethenny, 48, said she was leaving to focus on her daughter Bryn Hoppy, 9, and other projects.
Bethenny told Variety, “I have decided to leave the ‘Housewives’ franchise to explore my next chapter. It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women. With the changes in modern culture, I want to highlight the strength, confidence and unstoppable power that women have….I am excited for my future. The best is yet to come.”
But in an interview with The Daily Pop, Judge, 51, said the housewives' shows really don't consume that much time! “I hate when a housewife either gets fired or says she quits… When they go on record and say, ‘I just need to spend time with my kids,'” Judge told the E! show. “I’m just like, ‘Really? Because you weren’t spending time because we work three hours a day?’” The RHOC star scoffed at other housewives who have said, "I need to spend some quality time with my children. Or the drama is just too much for me, I can’t stand the toxic environment."
Bethenny first joined RHONY when it premiered in 2008. She initially left the show during the third season in 2010, but came back during the seventh season in 2015. Now RHONY is headed into its 12th season but it won't feature Bethenny. In a personal Instagram story after her shocking reality show departure announcement, Bethenny thanked followers and friends. “I am so grateful to you for sticking with me through everything,” she shared, before offering some words of encouragement to other would-be entrepreneurs.
“GO for it. Whatever it is. Reach for your dreams in life and love and make the impossible happen, because it can happen and it WILL happen. Come from a place of yes and it’s yours for the taking.” Bethenny is also riding high amid surviving her ongoing custody battle against ex-husband Jason Hoppy. The former spouses, who married in 2010 and separated in 2012, have fought over money and their home.
In regards to their daughter Bryn, Frankel sought full custody while Hoppy fought to maintain their joint custody agreement. A final ruling in the case is expected by the end of the summer. Meanwhile, Tamra continues on RHOC, where she's often getting into feuds with co-stars.
