As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Selena Gomez and her kidney donor best friend, Francia Raisa, had a nasty falling out, and haven't spoken in nine months.

While a source close to the Grown-ish actress, 31, said she was furious over the singer's "unhealthy choices" post transplant, RadarOnline.com now can exclusively reveal Gomez's side of the story.

A source said the 27-year-old was "sick" of feeling "indebted" to her friend after taking her kidney in a life-saving surgery.

"The truth is that Selena was tired of feeling like she owed something to her because she gave her a kidney," the source explained of Raisa, who said in a 2018 interview that she was emotionally and physically exhausted by the transplant. "This was Francia's choice; Selena did not steal the kidney from her."

As RadarOnline.com reported, Raisa was angry Gomez began drinking alcohol soon after the 2017 transplant, while she was still fragile and recovering.

"Yes, she has some drinks from time to time," the source continued of the star, who has admitted to drinking wine. "It is not every day, and she is not using drugs. She is enjoying herself and she is enjoying her life and living it how she wants to live it."

Now, months after a fight over Gomez's habits destroyed the friendship, Gomez "doesn't care" what her ex-best friend thinks, the source insisted.

"She just spent an amazing week with her best friends in Italy for her birthday," the source added.

"She is ready to get back to work after taking some time off, and she doesn't need this nonsense right now."
