Robert F. Kennedy Jr. broke his silence on his beloved niece Saoirse's overdose death with a touching tribute, RadarOnline.com can report.

In an Instagram post, the late Robert F. Kennedy's son shared some of the fond memories family and friends had with late Saoirse, including her move into Boston College and fun trip to Cape Cod with her actress step-aunt, Cheryl Hines

“We’ve lost our daughter and our children, their sister,” he wrote. “Saoirse was fierce, both in her love for her family and yearning for justice. A fearless adventurer, she inspired curiosity and daring in her friends.”

As readers know, RFK’s granddaughter was found dead of an apparent overdose at the family’s Hyannis Port, Massachusetts compound on Thursday, August 1.

Responders were called, but by the time she was transferred to Cape Cod Hospital, she was pronounced dead.

RadarOnline.com later reported an autopsy taken on Friday, August 2 showed there was “no trauma inconsistent with lifesaving measures.”

The cause of death will be determined by a toxicology report.

“Our hearts are shattered by the loss of our beloved Saoirse,” the Kennedy family said in a statement following the tragic news.  “Her life was filled with hope, promise and love.”
