Miley Cyrus is taking the stage, for the first time since her split from Liam Hemsworth, at the VMAs, and RadarOnline.com has learned she’s even performing her new breakup song about him!

Days after Hemsworth, 29, filed for divorce from Cyrus, 26, following eight months of marriage, MTV released a VMAs YouTube teaser featuring the singer. The channel confirmed to RadarOnline.com that she will be performing her hit song, “Slide Away,” for the first time live, at the event.

Readers know Cyrus’s single gives a myriad of references about her broken relationship with Hemsworth. In it, she talks about their teenage romance, and how she eventually outgrew it after loving him for ten years.

“Once upon a time it was made for us / Woke up one day, it had turned to dust / Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost / So it’s time to let it go,” Cyrus sings in the main verse.

“Move on, we’re not seventeen / I’m not who I used to be / You say that everything changed / You’re right, we’re grown now,” she continues.

The singer released the song just days she and Hemsworth announced their split. That same week, she jetted off to Italy and was caught on camera kissing The Hills star Kaitlynn Carter, who recently broke things off with Brody Jenner.

Soon, Hemsworth shared a statement of his own, saying he wished Cyrus “nothing but health and happiness going forward.” He then made their separation official by filing for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

A source told RadarOnline.com that while he was “heartbroken” by Cyrus’s affair with Carter, 30, he simply wants to “put all of this behind him, move on, and find a fresh start.”

Cyrus continued to enjoy her Italian getaway with Carter despite the divorce drama, but upon her return to Los Angeles, took to social media to deny the infidelity claims that arose after her and Hemsworth’s split.

“I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will,” she tweeted.

Days prior, she was seen having lunch with mother Tish Cyrus and Carter in California. An insider told RadarOnline.com she’s already thrown out most of Hemsworth’s belongings.

Now that all is said and done, Cyrus is getting ready to perform her breakup song live at the MTV Video Music Awards, airing Monday at 8 p.m.

It’s unclear if her new flame, Carter, will support her at the event.
