Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown is returning to reality TV after striking a deal with his formerly estranged father, Billy, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal!

For the past week, Matt, 36, has been dropping hints on social media that he had returned to Washington after spending the past year in California.

On Sunday, August 4, Matt confirmed that he was, in fact, with his family in Loomis, Washington, by posting a video in front of Palmer Lake on Instagram.

In the Instagram video, which has nearly 16,000 views, Matt said, "Taking in this peaceful view of this lake here and I was thinking about you all guys. I know that I haven’t done a video in a while, so I just wanted to say 'hey.' I hope you all have a good weekend and I know that we will out here. Alright. Love you all!"

Although it seemed as if it were just an update for his fans, RadarOnline.com has learned that it actually is the first step in his return to the spotlight!

"Matt is already back in California after spending a week with his family in Washington, but he really had a great trip home. He made up with his father, which is huge," a source close to the Brown family said. "He was able to make up with his father and they were able to come to an agreement that would bring Matt back to the show for the season after this one."

However, the insider insisted that Billy didn't give Matt his fame card back without coming to an agreement regarding his sobriety!

"Billy told Matt that he must stay sober from now on, or else the deal is off. Of course, Matt agreed," the snitch said.

As fans know, Matt has not had the easiest time staying sober for a long duration of time.

After disappearing from Washington in November 2018, following a blowout fight with Billy, Matt wandered the desert for several months before landing in Betty Ford Clinic outside of Palm Springs, Calif.

But it seems that Matt may have actually beat his demons this time around, as the insider assured RadarOnline.com that he was going to have "no problem" living up to his father's demands.
