Matt Lauer In Selling Spree To Buy Wife's Silence!
July 3 2019, Updated 4:22 p.m. ET
Matt Lauer is dumping his mega-bucks properties to buy the silence of estranged wife Annette Roque — forever, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal!
Desperate to keep second wife Annette from spilling the beans on their rocky marriage, the former “Today” co-host is set to unload the couple’s sprawling $44 million estate in the Hamptons, sources said.
“Annette has Matt backed up against a wall. She could keep the Hamptons estate if she wanted,” tattled an insider. “He has instructed his team that ‘whatever Annette wants, she gets.’ But it’s not out of guilt or remorse — it’s out of fear.
“Matt wants her to sign a nondisclosure so tight she won’t even be able to speak his name publicly!
“Her silence is worth more to him than any houses or money. Matt wants absolute secrecy.”
Matt, 61, who did not respond to our request for comment, went from popular daytime fixture on NBC to toxic TV nightmare overnight after a network employee made a sexual assault complaint against him relating to an incident at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The shocking accusation was quickly followed by assault allegations from other women dating back to at least 2001. Network execs terminated Matt’s $25 million “Today” contract immediately and Annette, 52, soon filed for divorce.
Although he’s downplayed any intention of returning to TV, insiders claimed Matt hopes to go back to New York City, find a new audience and work his charm — and he’s been trying to drum up meetings all over town.

The source added: “Matt made ‘Today’ the number one morning show for decades — and feels the way he’s being treated is disgusting.”
