This Monday, July 29 on Instagram, the Leftovers actor announced the news of Dolly’s passing with an emotional tribute post.
“Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle... our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield. ?? She was surrounded by her entire family,” Theroux, 47, captioned a series of photos of Dolly being laid to rest.
In the shots, the pup was wrapped in a blanket and covered in beautiful flowers. One photo showed Theroux holding hands with a woman while mourning the pet’s death. Though the actor didn’t mention Aniston, 50, in his post, fans believe the hand is hers.
Radar readers know Theroux and Aniston got married in 2015 and split in 2017 after allegedly leading separate lives.
Though the two never welcomed any kids, they cared for Dolly during their time together.
