When it comes to TV, retired baseball slugger Alex Rodriguez is in need of a makeover, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Media insiders revealed that Jennifer Lopez’s fiancé is thought of as boring, so he was sent to TV charm school to clean up his act!

But A-Rod wasn't happy with the help.

He was rude to the people who tried to give him the training he needed to do the job and felt like he was above all of it,” an insider confessed. “He doesn’t like being told what to do and has a very high opinion of himself.”

As a student, “he didn’t ask any questions except whether people would think dating J.Lo would help his career,” the insider said.

Apparently, it hasn't hurt since Rodriguez, who didn’t respond to a request for comment, still reports on baseball for ESPN and FOX — but critics are crying foul!

Media experts agree Rodriguez, 43, struck out big-time when he took a swing at contributing to ABC's Good Morning America in 2018.

“He was a disaster,” dished a network source of 49-year-old Lopez's future husband.
