Tom Cruise is “delighting in” Matt Lauer’s downfall and says it's karma – 14 years after their infamous TV feud, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

“Tom is being chatty as he films new projects and opening up about his past,” an insider explained.

Though Cruise is keeping quiet about his ex-wife, Katie Holmes, and their 13-year-old daughter, Suri, the devout Scientologist is not holding back when it comes to his nemesis, Lauer, who he infamously battled with over psychiatry and prescription medication during a June 2005 interview on Today.

“This is a subject which still touches every nerve in his body and he holds a definite grudge,” revealed the insider, explaining, “As he sees it, Matt tried to make a laughingstock out of him and was smug and ill-educated, to say the least.”

Now Cruise, 56, is having the last laugh.

“Tom takes great satisfaction that Matt’s been called out for being the sexist scumbag that he is and has enjoyed seeing him suffer,” said the insider. “He’s a big believer in karma and he prays that rat will never get back on TV after the embarrassment he put him through.”

Despite Cruise’s ire, Lauer, 61, recently claimed he holds no ill-will toward the Mission Impossible star.

“We have a good relationship; we have a good friendship,” Lauer said. “It was just one little moment.”
