Marie Osmond is replacing Sara Gilbert on The Talk, RadarOnline.com can confirm.
The TV personality will join the CBS daytime show for its 10th season in September, after Gilbert quit in order to focus on her family.
"If you've seen Marie Osmond guest host on The Talk over the past nine seasons, you know she's the perfect addition to the show," said Angelica McDaniel, executive vp daytime programs for CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution. "Marie's impressive career accomplishments have endeared her to fans throughout the decades. Her willingness to be authentic and share personal triumphs and struggles with honesty in the hopes of helping others always resonates. I'm excited to kick off season 10 with the multitalented, dynamic Marie at The Talk table."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported exclusively, Gilbert shocked fans in April by announcing that she was quitting the CBS, gig after nine years, and a source revealed the host and longtime wife of Linda Perry was left with no other choice — she either had to walk away from the show, or walk away from her family!
“Sara’s marriage was strained because of the nonstop fights with her wife,” a source close to Gilbert said. “Linda told Sara that she didn’t have enough time for her family, and she was right!”
Fans know, aside from her duties on The Talk, Gilbert is also co-creator and star of Roseanne spin-off, The Conners, which was recently picked up for a second season. In addition, Gilbert also has a recurring role on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory.
“Sara really wants to devote as much time as she can to The Conners, and there is so much drama that comes along with The Talk, she needed to reevaluate her life,” the source told RadarOnline.com exclusively.
