Lisa Kudrow has delighted TV audiences for decades with her role as hilarious hippy musician Phoebe Buffay in Friends. But despite her Hollywood success and ever-growing fan-base, the actress has not had an easy time in the industry.
Speaking with Marc Maron on his "WTF" podcast, Kudrow, 55, revealed she suffered from deep physical insecurities, and felt huge next to former costars Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox.
“You see yourself on TV and it’s that, ‘Oh, my God, I’m just a mountain of a girl,’” the actress said on Monday’s episode of the podcast. “I’m already bigger than Courteney and Jennifer — bigger, like my bones feel bigger. I just felt like this mountain of a woman next to them.”
At one point, she even made herself sick by starving herself to look more like them.
“Unfortunately for a woman, if you’re underweight, you look good. And that’s all I ever got,” Kudrow said. “When I was too thin, I was sick all the time. A cold, sinus infection… I was always sick.”

Over the years she’s become much more comfortable with herself, but still, at times, struggles with accepting her body.
“I have a whole battle all the time,” she said. “I end up with, ‘So what? So, alright. You’re older. That’s a good thing. Why is that a bad thing?'”
RadarOnline.com readers know Kudrow sometimes posts throwback photos or quotes from the show on her Instagram. She also reunites with Aniston, 50, and Cox, 54, somewhat often.
In her interview, she told Maron she’s still close with the cast, but “the girls more than the guys.” Still, all the stars got together for dinner a few years ago and had a blast!
This April, Kudrow posted a funny photo of her and Cox and captioned it with a notorious Phoebe Buffay quote: “My eyes! My eyes!”
