Secret Hell: Stefanie Sherk Suffered Crippling Insomnia, Was Detoxing From Xanax Before Suicide

Demian Bichir’s model and actress wife Stefanie Sherk not only suffered from debilitating depression, but experienced suicidal ideations and crippling insomnia in the days before she took her own life, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
According to the 10-page autopsy report first obtained by Radar, the 43-year-old beauty’s longtime insomnia worsened after the December 2018 death of her beloved grandmother and dog.
Her prescribed sleep aid, Lunesta, “stopped working and she was only able to get approximately 2 hours of sleep per night,” the Los Angeles County Coroner’s investigator wrote in the report.
Sherk was also attempting to detox from prescribed anti-anxiety medication Xanax, the investigator continued, with help from a doctor and her father.
She was two days into her detox treatment when her father and famous husband discovered her in the deep end of the family pool on April 12, weighted down by a backpack full of dumbbells on her back, and weights tied to her ankles.
Paramedics reportedly resuscitated the model at the scene and she was transported to the hospital but died eight days later on April 20.
Bichir discovered emails addressed to herself, which he told investigators were written like a “journal entry.”
Nine days before her desperate actions, she told an unnamed friend she planned to kill herself by jumping into the pool with weights. The friend notified the family.
In an Instagram statement days after his beloved wife's death, Bichir wrote: “On behalf of the Sherk and the Bichir Nájera families, it is with inconceivable pain that I announce that on April 20, 2019, our dearest Stefanie Sherk, my beloved and loving wife, passed away peacefully. It has been the saddest and toughest time of our lives and we don’t know how much time it will take for us to overcome this pain. Stefanie’s beautiful, angelical and talented presence will be immensely missed.”
Sherk recently wrapped a movie scheduled to premiere in 2020 called, Grudge, alongside Jacki Weaver. She had previously appeared in episodes of CSI: Cyber and Valentine’s Day.
