Fan favorite Lauren Conrad may not be returning in The Hills reboot, but Mischa Barton has used that to her advantage and it seems to be working in her favor!

RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that in Conrad’s absence, the formerly troubled actress built the show around her persona and she’s already receiving rave reviews.

“She’s looking great while portraying a heightened version of herself and has a ton of input over the storylines," a source told RadarOnline.com. “Doing this series has been a massive risk for her because people take so much of these reality shows at face value, but she's having a great time and is already making a solid living off of it.”

The source continued, “Even though Barton is the new face here, it’s quickly become her show, and everybody working on it has a spring in their step over what she has brought to the table!”

Barton’s stellar performance and help on set has also led to predictions that the reboot will last quite a while on television.

“There's no reason there can't be five more seasons of this,” a source shared exclusively with RadarOnline.com. “Bosses are loving what they’re seeing so far.”
